Read a book for 15 minutes.  

Draw your favorite character from the book.

Activity A:

Write a true story about your favorite thing to do in the snow.  It must have at least four sentences, and a picture to go with your story.

Activity B:

Write a true story about your least favorite thing to do in the snow.  It must have at least four sentences, and a picture to go with your story.

Activity A:

Create an American Flag using various items from around your house. Glue or tape your items onto a sturdy piece of paper or cardboard.

Activity B:

Go to www.abcya.com  Go to first grade. Click on skills. Then play the game Dress for the Weather.

Activity A: Fill a spray bottle with warm water and mix a packet of kool-aid (or use food coloring). Draw a picture on the snow!! (Optional: Take a picture of your picture and share with your teacher.)

Activity B: If there is snow on the ground and you are able to go outside, try to make these forms with snow: square, rectangle, triangle, and sphere (ball).

Activity C: Complete one of the step-by-step drawing instructions included in your packet. Complete the drawing on the sheet of unlined paper included. Color your drawing.

Watch an episode of Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood. Write two sentences on the paper provided about something you learned from the program.

Activity A: With a parent’s help, join the Quaver Street classroom by creating an account at www.QuaverMusic.com and entering the appropriate Class Code:

  • Mr. Rotramel (HES/CES): GGPTP
  • Mrs. Rotramel (IES/BJES): MPTE2

Once on Quaver Street, click the doorway that says “Kids Enter Here.”  Click “SongBrush” at the bottom right corner, and create three compositions.  Save them using the “File” menu at the bottom of the screen.

Activity B: Using your best singing voice, sing “Snail, Snail”, “Frog in the Meadow”, and “Engine, Engine # 9” to a family member, pet, or stuffed animal.  Then, sing again while tapping the steady beat.  Finally, sing all three songs while clapping the rhythm of the words.  Explain to your audience how the steady beat and rhythm of the words are different.
