Framing a Shot

Really good framing of your photos, nice photos. Maybe trying another photo for your content page instead of having the same person on both dps and contents, but looks good either way just a suggestion. Maybe move the photo in the front cover above the text down under the text and have the coverlines onto rather than under.

Using a variety of shot distances

You have a close up and some long and medium shots which shows you used a variety of shots which is really good for your magazine as it shows your skills.

Selecting MES to make meaning

Your use of MES is very visible and i can tell you worked hard to arrange the costumes and props you needed for your star images. For example, on the front page I like how the costume works really well with the aesthetics of the writing, the watch and glasses fit with the style of your front page and the colours used.

Manipulating photos

You have manipulated your photos well, I can tell you have good photoshop skills as you managed to cut out your images quite well and it’s not highly visible that you have edited the actual star image which is good.

Using appropriate language and register

I do like how you have used your magazines name in with the cover lines on the content page, however, I do think you may have over used it maybe not use it as many times? ‘Exclusives’ is spelt wrong at bottom of content page

You have used good terms and language that associate well with music magazines such as ‘popular’ and ‘trend’

Integrating illustration and text in DTP

I think your titles for all the pages have overused that font. Try using a different font for something as i think this font is a bit overused. Furthermore, maybe add a bit of gold to your DPS and perhaps some drop capitals on your text.

Using conventions of layout and page design

I think you could move the text you have on the front page away from the edge a bit as i think it’s a bit too close.

Creative use of typeface and text

I like that you have used a variety of colours and font in your text it makes it stand out more and catches the audience's attention especially on the front cover and content page - maybe try adding some of this to your DPS.
