Dress for Success, Literally: Interview Attire

When dressing for an interview, we are here to make sure you look professional and leave a good impression on the interviewers.

It’s important to look at the company’s website, or even social media, for a sense of their day-to-day dress code. If you are still unsure of the dress code, choose the option that is dressier.

See below for what is appropriate depending on the dress code.

The recommended outfits options above are only suggestions, feel free to add your own personal touch but also be mindful of these guidelines:

Be fresh: Make sure all clothing is clean, free of stains, snags, and wrinkles. Also keep your hair and nails neat.

Be aware of materials: select materials that are more wrinkle resistant

Make smart color and pattern choices: solid, darker colors are typically recommended, but patterns are acceptable as long as they are not wild or distracting

Dress modestly: check that both the neckline and hemline are appropriate. Generally, skirts and dresses should not be shorter than 2 inches above the knee.

Check the weather: keep in mind whether it will be hot, cold, windy, rainy, etc. and dress accordingly

Dress comfortably: it’s easier to be confident when you’re comfortable
