Non-Focused Awareness
Hearing, Seeing, Touch, Breath
To begin to integrate Non-Focused Awareness:
- Become familiar with the Map for Non-Focused Awareness (NFA).
- Begin by using NFA as a personal practice. Experiment using it during normal stress and waiting such as waiting in line at stores or in the doctor’s office.
- Consider recording yourself setting the foundation and leading a person through breath awareness with ice. Share your recording in the online forum, asking for feedback and offering your own self-reflection.
- You may wish to partner up with one of your classmates to practice using this process with each other and to further explore this rich pain coping process.
