Spring Athletes, Tryouts are just a week or so away!! The list of eligible athletes is posted on the bulletin board outside of the athletic office. Stop by and make sure your name is on the list. If not, see someone in the athletic office. The athletic office is closed Thursday and Friday this week due to state wrestling, so all spring paperwork must be turned in to athletics by Wednesday, February 13th!

 

Winter athletes, with most athletes seasons having ended already, please make sure that your locker rooms are cleaned out and locks returned. The athletic locker rooms and hallways will be closed Thursday afternoon and all day Friday due to the state wrestling championship.

Riverside Equestrian Club is accepting donations for the Loudoun County Animal Shelter in our box at the front of the school.  Donations may include blankets, towels, pet toys, and pet treats.  We are also accepting Equestrian related goods in room L511. Please spread the joy of this season to animals in our community in need.

Humanity First and FBLA-Interact clubs are collecting new and gently used winter clothing for Mobile Hope Loudoun.  Donations of hats, gloves, coats, jackets, snow pants, etc. can be made through December 17th.  Donation boxes are located in the school foyer and in the library. Want to get involved in Riverside? Do you want the opportunity to perform at events like basketball games, pep rallies, and parades? The Rhythmic Rams Dance Team will be holding mid-season tryouts on Monday November 12 after school starting at 4:30. Tryouts will last until 5:30 with an opportunity to stay after to learn a routine. Anyone is welcome to come by!


Medical Club is hosting a toy drive and change collection for N.E.G.U.: a cancer awareness foundation.
Boxes are placed by the main staircase in the 1400's with posters of what to donate. The change collection will be through your first block class and will be a competition between classes.  Whichever class raises the most money will have a donut party.

The Riverside Volleyball Teams are sponsoring a Dig Pink Fundraiser on Tuesday, October 16th, starting at 5:00 pm! Come out and watch the RVHS Freshmen, JV, and Varsity Volleyball games against Dominion High School. FBLA needs your help to collect donations for foster children in our area.  Did you know most of them carry their belongings in trash bags?  We want to give them their own brand-new backpack.  Starting this week, there will be collection boxes near the front of the school to drop in new unused backpacks, blankets, books, pajamas, and stuffed animals.  Please help us reach our goal of donating 300 backpacks to these children in need.

The annual LCPS College Fair will be held this Sunday, September 23 from 2:30pm-5:00pm at Stone Bridge HS. All students are welcome. Students should register at www.gotocollegefairs.com. Click on the “Student Register Now” button, select Virginia, and search for the LCPS College Fair. Students will then complete the registration form to receive their personal barcode. The barcode will allow more time to speak one-on-one with college and university representatives.  See you there!

Varsity Club Reminder- The deadline for commitment forms and dues is Friday, September 21st. Due to high interest in this year's club no late submissions will be accepted. That means if you turn your stuff in late you cannot join!

 

Riverside's National English Honor Society is holding an interest meeting at 8:30 AM this Friday, September 21st in room 1603. This meeting is for students who would like to learn more about becoming a member of NEHS. If you have any questions about the National English Honors Society before the meeting, please see Mrs. Astorga or Mrs. Ulloa.

 

The Skating Club interest meeting is Friday 9/21 at 8:30am in room 1208

The Varsity Club is a service club for student-athletes who have earned a Varsity letter from a Athletic Team.  The mission is to teach the importance of mentorship, education and citizenship. Activities include: Seldens Landing Reading Program, Coaching Special Olympics, Belmont Ridge Mentor Program and volunteering at Home games.  All current members should attend.  See Mr. Weeren in Athletics with questions.

Attention Seniors! If you missed senior portraits in May and July, there are two more make-up days comings. On Monday, Sept. 10th and the following Monday, Sept. 17th, Prestige Portraits will be here from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM for make-up and retake senior portraits in the auditorium. Postcards have been mailed home to those that were not at the original picture days and retakes can be scheduled in person with the photographers. See Mr. Wojcik in room 1400 if you have any questions.
