Campus Nurse Updates
Please enter your child’s campus phone number into your mobile phone so you can be easily reached. If you are unable to pick your child up in a timely fashion, please have a backup plan arranged. Your backup plan could be a nanny, friend, or neighbor. If you are needing someone else to pick up your student, please call the school to ensure the front desk has the name of the individual. They will need to show identification upon arrival. Please also make sure we have your most up to date work and cell phone numbers and notify the school if these should ever change.
A well area and isolation area has been designated on each campus. The well area will be for students who have medication and emergencies. In order to reduce the spread of COVID-19, minor injuries and issues will be handled in the classroom. Please try to anticipate your child’s needs and send water bottles, lip balm, snacks, hygiene products, and a change of clothing in case it might be needed. Campus Nurses will still be available for anything that cannot be handled in the classroom with the teacher.
The isolation area will be for any student not feeling well or exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19, the campus nurse will be called by the teacher prior to sending a student to the isolation area so that the nurse can prepare to receive the student. The nurse will perform an assessment of COVID-19 symptoms, and determine if the student needs to be sent for testing and home isolation.
Permission forms are required annually for any medications at school. Parents, please feel free to drop off medications at your child’s campus any time prior to the first day of school.
Asthma treatment at school will include the use of albuterol rescue inhalers with spacers. Nebulizers will not be used on campus due to the increased risk of COVID-19 transmission.
For elementary students, please make sure your child always has a complete change of clean clothes in their backpack in case of any bathroom accidents. There may be times when parents will be called upon to come to campus, pick their child up and assist their child when a bathroom accident has occurred.
