CLEVELAND, Tenn. -- The Bradley Central Bearettes posted a 70-26 victory over historic AA power-house McMinn Central on Friday night inside Jim Smiddy Arena.

The win came on senior night where the Bearettes honored their four seniors and saw all four of them see the floor at the start of the game.

A Jamaryn Blair bucket got the scoring going a minute and 28 seconds into the game and Bradley (24-3) did not trail the rest of the way. Central was able to tie it up just under 50 seconds later on a pair of Melia Baker free-throws and Bradley responded with an 18-4 run to wrap up the quarter and take a 23-6 lead after the first.

The Bearettes didn’t let up outscoring the Chargerettes 13-3 in the second period with all 13 points coming off the bench.

At the half Bradley was shooting a red hot 87.5 percent (7-of-8) from behind the 3-point line and 46.2 percent (12-of-26) overall.

The Bearettes were able to hold on throughout the second half, outscoring the guests 23-12 in the third and 11-5 in the final period to hold onto the 34-17 lead.

Anna Walker came off the bench tied a career-high 24 points going 4-for-4 from distance. Kaleigh Hughes was the next leading scorer with 10 as Anna Roberts and Blair threw in eight and seven respectively.

Hannah Lombard and Alexis Barnes had four assists each while Cambree Mayo came up with three steals. Amelia Reuter led all players with eight rebounds and Hughes, Walker, and Barnes all pulled down four boards.

The Bradley offense was in full force shooting 51.1 percent (24-for-47) overall and 9-of-13 (69.2 percent) from 3-point range while racking up 19 assists in the contest. The Bearettes outscored Central 24-2 off turnovers, 30-6 in the paint, 10-3 in second chance scoring, 17-0 on fastbreaks, and 39-6 in bench scoring.

McMinn Central (15-12) was led by Baker with seven points and Carlie Runayn was right on her heels with five.

The Chargerettes struggled shooting 6-for-37 (16.2 percent) and went 0-for-3 from behind the arc. The guests were able to go to the free-throw line 23 times, and made 14 of them (60.9 percent).

In between the boys and girls game Bradley Central recognize their seniors. The Bearettes have four in Hughes, Roberts, Lombard, and Kaitlin Hullender. The Class of 2019 Bearettes went 121-9 thus far in their careers, made it to the state tournament twice, and have yet to lose to a district 5 AAA opponent.

The Bearettes will be back in action on Monday as they welcome rival Cleveland to Jim Smiddy Arena for the regular season finale. Tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m.
