Pass is an online system that is used to manage all pass situations.  Pass replaces old fashioned methods of requesting a hall pass.  The system utilizes current browser technology and is easy to use.  Students log into the system and make a request for a new pass by selecting where they are departing from and indicating their destination.  Teacher pass approvals (PINs) are often required when leaving/arriving at the locations involved in the pass.

LOGGING into Pass

Students can access Pass by going to www.pass.securly.com/login.  Select the login option that applies and enter the appropriate credentials.

Top Right Menu Bar / Profile Settings

The following can be found on the top right menu bar of the Pass screen:

  1. User Settings:  Click here to view (only) student name and email information.  If the school is using the Kiosk feature and allows students to manage their Kiosk password, this can be entered here.  (see below)
  2. Megaphone Icon:  Where a student can turn on/off sound notifications.
  3. Log Out Button:  Click to log out of the system.
  4. Gray Bell:  When there is a number showing here, it means there has been a change made to one of the student’s Appointment Passes.
  5. Blue Circle?:  Provides “HELP” information about this portion of the screen.
  6. Kiosk Passcode - May or may not be able to set your own Kiosk passcode, depending on how your school has up this functionality.

Creating a Student Pass

From the main Create Pass screen complete the fields as shown below and click Submit.

The pass is created and is red, as shown below.  The number in the red circle on the top left, shows the number of passes the student has created that day.

The teacher can approve the pass from their Pass dashboard or from the student device, by clicking on their name/the red checkmark and entering their PIN.

Once approved, the pass will turn green, as shown below.

Teachers or staff members at the destination location have the same option to approve/PIN the pass from their Pass dashboard or from the student device.

Auto Pass Overview

Auto Pass is a feature that some schools/teachers may choose to use for passes to certain locations.  When enabled, this allows the student to start and stop (or just start) the pass to leave and return to the classroom.  Please follow any school specific guidelines for leaving the classroom when using Auto Pass.

When creating a pass, if Auto Pass is enabled for the selected destination, students will see a “play” or “START” button on your red pass screen, as shown below.

Simply click the Start button when leaving the room.  This will activate your pass and turn it green in the system, as shown below.  Upon returning to the classroom, click the Stop button to end the pass.

Other Pass Functions

  1. AUTO Check-in PIN - Optional functionality that may be used by a specific office/location which allows students to enter a PIN/password on the pass upon arrival at that specific location.
  2. RECEIVING a Teacher Pass - A Teacher Pass is when a teacher creates a pass for the student.
  3. STUDENT Pass Limit & Location Restrictions - An Admin may set up a pass limit to limit the number of passes a student can create in a specified time period.  Admins can also limit students from accessing certain locations.
  4. RECEIVING an Out of Office (from a Teacher or location) - Teachers (or locations) may turn on an “Out of Office” in the system, which means students will not be able to create a pass to that teacher/location while they are out.
  5. KIOSK Mode (Regular Pass) - Kiosk Mode is a form of ‘self-service’ for students to create passes at a shared device.  Follow the school’s guidelines IF this is being utilized.
  6. Kiosk Mode (Auto Pass) -  Please see above Kiosk and Auto Pass information.
  7. Web Accessbility Features - Provides information on how users can customize their view and use of Pass.
  8. "Active Pass" Option added to Student Dropdown Menu - Allows students to access their "Today's History'' by clicking on the red dot.

Appointment Pass Overview for Students

Appointment Pass may be used by Teachers and Staff members to set up future passes in order to schedule an appointment with a student.  Students can see appointments on the Appointment Pass menu option.  The tabs at the top indicate when the appointments are scheduled.  Choose the Beyond 7 Days option to see future appointments.

The system will send students an in-app notification at approximately 20 minutes and 5 minutes prior to the appointment time.  The in-app notification looks similar to this:

Simply click ACKNOWLEDGE on the 20 minute notification shown above.

On the 5 minute in-app notification, click ACKNOWLEDGE  as shown below.  The pass will then be created, but needs to be approved by the teacher, just like any other pass.

You may also receive email notifications regarding your Appointment Passes in Pass, IF your school has enabled these types of notifications.

Student Appointment Pass Requests - If enabled at your school, students may be able to initiate a future appointment request to a teacher, staff member or admin.

If you have any Pass related questions, please follow your school’s guidelines for submitting these questions.
