Board honors Lu Ann Drum

The Board honored Lu Ann Drum, sixth grade teacher at Blue Valley Middle, with the Excellence in Education Award. Drum has been in the district for 15 years.

Board approves McConnell and Associates agreement

The Board approved McConnell and Associates agreement which will provide a full tennis court replacement at Blue Valley Northwest.

Board approves 2026-27 calendar

The Board approved the 2026-27 calendar as presented at the January board meeting. The calendar was finalized with feedback from staff and families. You can view the 2026-27 calendar on the district website.

Board approves Children’s Mercy contract amendment

The board approved the amended Children’s Mercy contract to include an additional 12 new classified social workers at Blue Valley buildings. These individuals will be fully funded due to the Kansas Mental Health Intervention Team (MHIT) grant. Learn more about the grant in the amended contract.

The Board received an update on the 2025 legislative session including an overview of key dates, the district’s priority level positions, and testimony submitted by the district for various bills. Board provides update on superintendent search

The Board shared an update on the superintendent search. In partnership with the search firm Hazard, Young, Attea & Associates (HYA), they have developed a leadership profile based on feedback from employees, patrons, and the community.
