Magnet Sign-Up calendar for individual virtual sessions - Learning Labs…

Choose a slot, make sure your name appears where the meeting name (the what) and the where is always Zoom for now (you do not have to type that).

Once you complete the form to book an appointment, click on save. A Zoom invitation will automatically be sent to your email (dearborn public school emails only). Accept the invite and it will automatically be added to your own Google calendar. If you do not use your Google calendar at this time then use another way to make note of the day/time of your meeting so that you don't forget. Do not be late either. Parents, if you want to see the calendar, just have your student show you. All sessions are scheduled for 30 min. Some sessions may run a little shorter depending on individual student needs and progress. If needed they may go a little bit over (depending on teacher schedule at time after meeting).

For math:

Each student is required to sign up for three 30 min sessions per month. Only two sessions for September since we are already into it.

For Edgenuity:

Each student is required to sign up for one 30 min session per month.

Of course students may always email questions and contact us for immediate virtual help/schedule support and at any time. This calendar is for the required sessions. Teachers may require more sessions from a student if they are in need of intervention or behind. In that case the student and parent will be notified. At this time there are no in person meetings (Learning Labs) allowed to be scheduled in our district. We will let you know if that changes. Teachers may add more availability for these required individual sessions if/when needed.

REMOTE LEARNING ATTENDANCE POLICY:

Magnet is mostly Asynchronous work time (working on your own). Students will be marked present during these times. If a student is not working (putting in time) for a few days, the teacher is required to question the student, alert parents and document it in Mistar (where we take attendance). During Synchronous time (our learning labs “Huddles” on Tues & Thurs) we are required to take attendance. If you miss a mandatory session you will be marked absent. If the student is sick and cannot work for a specific day. Or has some other reason why cannot work, the parent still has to call the office to excuse them. Students must follow due dates for Community Service class.

EDGENUITY

You must finish 100% of your Edgenuity class with an average of 60% or higher. All students must take notes and show them to their teacher in order to get quizzes/tests unlocked.   Do about four 40 minute sessions/day

Math Pacing guide - pacing is 60% of your grade

***For Graphing please use Desmos Online Calculator if you do not have your own

*** If there are any problems accessing the math website or any other technical errors, please let me know right away via email or Remind.

Students work on skills practices and input answers online. As students work, they must keep a notebook and write down work, formulas, notes ect. Be prepared to show math work/notes every Monday. To pass the skill, the student must get an 80% on assignments in order for them to be tested on. If the student does not get an 80% they can try again until they get it. Must do 40 minutes (per math class) daily

Then a student tests on a skill (or grouped skills together). The student must earn a 70% to pass the test. If they do not, we go over corrections and they try again until they get it. Tests are done online with the use of a calculator and your notes.

When a student has successfully completed a few skills (80% correct), they may email me a picture of their notes and work and request that I generate their test. They may not take the test until I approve it. If a student completes a class and needs another math class added, we can do that.

MATH VOCABULARY:

Each student must open up the vocabulary document for their class below, make a Google copy of their own and add their name to the name of the document and the doc itself. Once you are finished with the vocab and ready to turn it in, share it with me. You will be responsible for completing the definition and adding an image to describe the term or concept.

SEM 1:   All other math classes    Alg 2B S1 & S2   Due Friday September 11th by 3pm.

Class Code: KEMIAY

Teachers: Kemian/Richardson

Goal:

You should be getting in 30 min/weekday on Freckle Reading. So that is:

30 min/weekday

150 min/week

approx 600 min/month

approx 2550 min/2nd semester  (17 wks)

Your final grade (quarter 4) is calculated by taking your total minutes and dividing by the total minutes for the semester.

There is a pre-test, sometimes you may get targeted practice skills assigned and then there are 3 other elements to work on:

This class is designed to adjust to your own personal reading levels and help you improve your reading.
