UPDATED MARCH 19, 2020

Q-When will students return to school?

A-Right now, Governor Lamont has closed all Connecticut schools until March 31st. We will be updating parents each Wednesday as things progress. Many health professionals are talking about a 6-8 week time period for the virus to subside.

Q-When will the last day of school be?

A-We anticipate the last day of school will be June 16th at this time.

Q-Do students need to complete the At-Home Learning Connections?

A-Students are encouraged to keep up with At-Home Learning Connections developed by the Curriculum office and teachers. The materials are available and beginning on Monday March 30th the learning will be more directed by individual teachers in our distance learning platform. Information will continue to be shared over the course of the school closure.

Q-I can’t get into some of the resources without permission.

A-Please use your student’s district email and password to log in through Classlink. https://launchpad.classlink.com/rsd13. You should be able to access all their links from there. If you are having trouble with your internet, please contact your provider. (Xfinity, Comcast, etc)

Q-My student was absent when the packets were given out. What can I do?

A-Students can access all information that was given out on their grade level At-Home Learning Connection on Classlink. If you would like to pick up a physical packet, please contact your principal to arrange a time to pick up the packet at Central Office.

Q-Who do I contact if I cannot get my child logged into Classlink?

A-There will be a form posted next week for parents/students who are in need of tech support.

Q-I cannot print from the Chromebook. What do I do if I need printed material?

A-Printing from a Chromebook is not possible. If you need printed copies of something, sign in to a non-district device with your child’s account and print it at home if you can.

Q-I have other questions, but don’t know who to reach out to.

A-Please reach out to your principals directly or email covid19@rsd13.org to get answers to your questions.

Q-What happens to payments and permission slips for field trips happening in the future?

A- All deadlines will be extended at this time. If you have specific questions about trips, please reach out to your school principals.

Q-What do I do if my child needs to be absent from distance learning?

A-We will send more information with details next Wednesday.

Q-I was wondering if there is a protocol in place if students go out of state.

A-A protocol has not yet been developed.
