Attendance Procedure
- It is absolutely crucial for your child to be in class in order to learn choreography, acquire technical elements, strengthen their ballet skills and improve as a dancer overall. We cannot help them advance if they’re not in attendance.
- If your dancer needs to miss her routine day/classes, for any reason, she will need to schedule a make-up private lesson with one of our staff members BEFORE the next class. It would be ideal if the private lesson were scheduled with the choreographer of the routines that were missed, but any of our staff members will be able to meet with her and get her caught up. This will ensure that the following class does not need to be wasted “catching up” the absent dancers as this is disrespectful to both the remaining teammates and teachers. This includes being later than 30 minutes after the scheduled warm-up and/or leaving earlier than 10 minutes.
- During your results meeting, we will clarify which specific days and classes the policy extends to.
- Private lessons are $20 for a 30 minute session.
- Please be responsible in scheduling your make-up classes; we will help keep track as well.
- Please note that there is no replacement for class time with the team; please do not use the private lessons as such. However, this policy will help keep everyone on track to be successful this season.
- If your dancer misses their scheduled technique and/or ballet class(es) for any reason- this class will need to be made up at Saturday Ballet. That schedule is accessible online. This class is not included in your monthly tuition and you will be charged for it separately.
- Missing a competition and/or performance without communication and/or enough notice to suffice is UNACCEPTABLE and will lead to your dancer being asked to sit out of the next competition or performance (i.e. competitions are scheduled for back to back weekends which will not allow a full week of classes to rearrange formations).
- Communication is key! Talk to us and we can ALWAYS find a solution that benefits the entire team (teachers and dancers included).
Note: By signing the contract, you agreed to commit to this year of dance, which includes attendance. Your child missing dance is something that affects them, you as a parent, their teammates, the choreographer, and the studio as a whole. This attendance policy proves to be very effective at trimming down the amount of absences and getting dancers caught up on what they missed.
