10 Days and counting until Winter Break!

(This semester is flying!)

There is much to celebrate including your continued generosity for our students-in-need. Collectively we fed over 200 people at our annual Thanksgiving Dinner. And now we have the opportunity to make the December holidays a little brighter for them as well.

Haverhill High School is once again collecting gift cards to hand out to our students who are most in-need for the holidays. We are asking for increments of $25 to stores where students can purchase giftier items as well as necessities (e.g. Walmart & Target). The holiday season can add up for all of us, but if you are able and would like to donate, we ask that you do so by Friday, 12/16. If it's easier for you, please email Dawnmarie Paradis for a venmo option, and we can purchase the cards for you.

We are Haverhill.

Warmly,

Dawnmarie Paradis (C17) & Tori Lu (Main Office)

NURSES CORNER

Happy Holidays from the Nursing Department! The HHS Nurses will be conducting height & weight screenings for 10th graders the week of December 19th. If you would like to opt your child out of the screenings, email hhsnurses@haverhill-ps.org before December 19th. Thank you!

If you have not filled out the Annual Health Update Form this year, please take the time to do so. We are missing doctor’s orders and parent permission for many of our students with inhalers and EpiPens. Please have the doctor’s office fax those orders to 978-469-8760 and send in the Consent for Medication Administration for these medications. As always, reach out to us with any questions! hhsnurses@haverhill-ps.org

MCAS UPDATE

HHS is gearing up for the MCAS Biology and Introductory Physics science retakes and first takes for current and incoming students this February 2023.

Eligible students at this time of the year include repeating Freshmen, Sophomores, and Juniors who have not received a passing score. Seniors who have not completed a lab science towards a modified CD also need to pass the test.

Both Biology and Physics will be offered the same days with Session 1 on February 1 and Session 2 on February 2. There are limited make-up opportunities for eligible students that are absent on testing days, so plan to be here February 1 and 2.

Remember, along with the required credits, you need to pass the science MCAS tests to receive a diploma.
