COURSES THROUGH TIFR-GS ENTRANCE EXAMINATION

The Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (http://tifr.res.in/~sbp/) is India's premier institution for advanced research in fundamental sciences. The Institute runs a graduate programme leading to the award of Ph.D / Integrated M.Sc.-Ph.D in Physics. The TIFR-GS Entrance Examination is held in December of every year for admission to its Graduate School. Students who have qualified or are appearing in the final year of undergraduate study are eligible for the renowned Integrated-Ph.D courses in the following streams, after qualifying the exam and a session of interview.

COURSES THROUGH JOINT ENTRANCE SCREENING TEST (JEST)

The JEST is conducted by about 24 research institutes throughout the country in February/March of each year for admission to post graduation courses therein. Physics Honours students are eligible for the following:

COURSES THROUGH IIT-JAM ENTRANCE EXAMINATION

The All India IIT-JAM (Joint Admission for Masters) Examination is held every year for admission to M.Sc, Joint / Dual M.Sc-Ph.D and other Post Bachelors degree Courses at the IIT’s & Integrated-Ph.D Course at Indian Institute of Science Bengaluru. Students of undergraduate Physics courses may appear for the PH (Physics) Test Paper.
The result of IIT-JAM is also shared by National Institutes of Technology (NIT’s), the Indian Institutes of Science Education & Research (IISER’s) & other centrally funded institutions like IIEST-Shibpur & SLIET-Punjab for admission to their Masters/Integrated-Ph.D courses in Physics.
