• Congratulations to our DHS Unified Sports Team for being recognized as the Ann Malafronte Rookie Team of the year at the Unified Sports Banquet
• The DHS softball team traveled to Bradley and Irving for clinics with our elementary school athletes interested in softball on 4/23 and 4/25
• Hosted a CIAC Unified Sports flag football NVL tournament on 5/1
• Attended the NVL Leadership and Development conference in Watertown with 9 student athletes on 5/2
• The elementary school running clubs kicked off their Spring session on 4/1
• I attended Little League opening day on 4/13
• Attended the baseball team McBaseball night on 4/17
• Hosted the softball 13th annual PINK day of games on 5/4 to raise funds for the Hewitt Center for Breast Wellness at Griffin Hospital
• Attended the softball pasta fundraiser on 4/30
• Our baseball team played Naugatuck at Dunkin Donuts Park on 5/2
• The sound system install is set to be begin this week
• DHS Spring sports are at the halfway point. The baseball and softball teams both have 5 wins. Track is off to a great start as well with NVL Championships coming up on 5/18
• DMS spring sports have begun and we are rescheduling some early contests missed due to weather
• DMS Unified Sports will be hosting a CIAC Volleyball Tournament at DMS on 5/22 at 3:30pm
• I am continuing to work with Parks & Rec and Public Works to update some field issues that need attention. So far the announcers booth roof has been repaired, the batters boxes have been replaced and we are working on the turf for the baseball mound after a issue with the manufacturer
• The next class of the Derby Athletic Hall of Fame has been chosen and will soon be announced
