Field Director
Huge for Assembly is seeking an experienced Field Director to support our campaign for the 37th Assembly District in Western Queens. Huge is a New Yorker, software engineer, and problem solver looking to take on Queens’ biggest challenges with innovative solutions.
Responsibilities
- Draft and execute a petitioning plan to ensure the candidate appears on the ballot.
- Draft, execute, and update a field plan that identifies and turns-out a requisite number of supporters to win the election.
- Create accessible training materials for campaign volunteers that teach core organizing skills such as door-to-door canvassing, volunteer recruitment, and campaign culture building.
- Oversee the candidate’s direct voter contact responsibilities.
- Track metrics-based field goals to keep the campaign on schedule with regards to identifying a winning number of supporters.
- Create all direct voter contact scripts, and set up campaign tools to be able to track responses to direct voter contact conversations.
- Work with the Campaign Manager to maximize political relationships to recruit and retain new volunteers to the campaign.
Qualifications
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to establish a strong campaign culture and hold volunteers and staff accountable to the campaign’s goals.
- Expertise in NGP VAN/Votebuilder.
- Ability to manage large volunteer teams.
- At least one cycle of NYC field experience, even as a volunteer.
- Spanish, Chinese, or Bangla proficiency preferred, but not required.
- Familiarity with Mobilize and Reach preferred, but not required.
- Driver’s License and reliable transportation preferred, but not required.
Ideal Start Date: February 1, 2022
Salary Range: $3750-$4250 per month, depending on experience
