Mareson kept right behind the runaway teapot soldier.  Eventually he followed him back into the forest, and the gravitational forces of the land began to take effect again.  The soldier found a tree and dove into its grounded leaves, and Mareson stopped.

He held his arm out and lit it on fire.  “You’re not escaping.”  The zebra said.  “I’m not letting you out of my sight.”  He grabbed ahold of the leaves in front of him and slowly, they began to burn away.  The tree quickly caught fire.  It wasn’t near any other foliage so it was the only tree that burned.  The fires rose high, likely due to the gravity.

When the leaves burned away Mareson gasped.  The soldier was nowhere within the tree.  He reached out to dig through its branches, when he suddenly felt blunt force on the back of his neck.  He fell towards the tree and the scorched branches scratched his face.

He turned around to see the teapot.  It was holding its spear like a club.  How did it sneak around him like that.  Mareson summoned his own weapon and lept at the monster.  He grabbed its arm but the soldier slipped away and stepped back.  Its smooth body made it impossible to grab.

“Fuck you!”  Mareson yelled, unsure if it could understand him.  He jumped up and attempted to attack the monster.  His javelin hit its porcelain chest and cracked the glass.  A brownish, thin liquid then poured out of its body.  It didn’t look like blood or water, but rather, tea.

Mareson took a step back.  It looked grotesque with a massive leaking slit in its body.  He’s seen his fair share of gore before but this felt oddly disturbing.  The soldier stood upright as if it hadn’t been attacked at all, and lunged forward to grab at Mareson.

He couldn’t get away in time as the soldier’s solid hand gripped him by the neck.  He looked up to see the head of the soldier aimlessly wobbling around.  And then, it tilted forward.  Mareson began to panic when he realized what was going on.  The nose of the monster’s head began to dispense that same liquid from before, and a stream of scalding hot tea poured onto Mareson’s face.

He began to scream and struggled to get away.  He kicked at the ground with such force that his body launched into the chest of the soldier.  This caused the same tea to pour over the back of his neck and poncho, however his sudden attack managed to stagger the monster, and knock it over.

“Aaahhhhh!”  He took his javelin and rammed into the soldier, pushing it to the ground.  It fell onto its back as a loud cracking sound could be heard.  He then jumped in top of the monster and stabbed it in the neck, drilling the head of the weapon through it and down to the other side.  His eyes were tearing up from the pain.  His entire head felt numb and burnt.  Even as a fire user, it was like nothing he’s felt before.

Before Mareson could stab at it again however he heard a sudden explosion, almost like a gunshot.  The head of the soldier combusted, splattering tea all over the front of his poncho.  Mareson stumbled back.  “What the fuck!?”  He screamed again.

Shaking, he turned to where he heard the sound.  It was then that his heart dropped.  Before him stood the familiar figure of a man he’s seen before, and a man he never wanted to see again.

It was the dog.  The businessman in a suit, standing before him.  The rifle was in his hands, the same one he almost killed him with.  And at his sides were his two cohorts.  The cats.

The dog smiled.  “Who’s your friend?”  He asked.  The barrel of his gun was smoking.

Mareson looked back at the monster.  Its head was blown clean off, with porcelain glass scattered everywhere, and its tea had begun to seep into the ground.  The rest of its body was managed, as if it were trying to shrivel up like a bug.

“Y-you...”  Mareson seethed.  He held his weapon high.  “I finally have you alone.”

“Well I’m not exactly alone.”  The dog tilted his head.  “Where’s Squire.”

“Screw him.”  He began to run at the dog.

“Oh?  But don’t you remember what happens when you stray too far from him.”

Mareson ignored him.  The two cats stepped forward to stand in front of the dog, but he held his arm up to halt their movement.  Mareson ran closer, and he stood completely still.  As if he were expecting something.

Mareson took another step, and then suddenly a loud click could be heard from the bottom half of his body.  He then collapsed to the ground, and his weapon disappeared.

The dog sighed.  “Figures.”  He then raised his arm again to signal the bodyguards.  “Come on, boys.  Pick him up.  We have a zebra to deliver.”
