The Mission of the Month for April is Rev. Tyler McMiller, Missionary to Italy and Southern Europe. The Rev. Tyler McMiller and his wife, Yanela McMiller, serve the Lord through The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS) as missionaries in Eurasia, based in Italy. Any gift on the mission line of your April envelopes goes to support Rev. McMiller.

Sunday School—The children will study “Paul’s First Missionary Journey” today in Sunday School and can be picked up in the chapel at 11:15 a.m. Snack next week (5/1): Neumann.

Youth Group will be having a joint activity with the youth of St. Paul’s in Cascade, at St. Paul’s, on May 6th from 6:00-8:00 p.m. All youth in 6th-12th grades are welcome and we encourage you to bring friends as well. Speak with Pastor for more details and to let him know if you plan to attend.

Quarterly Congregational Meeting—On Sunday, May 1, you have the opportunity to be informed and help in the decision-making process here at Emmanuel. Join us when we meet in Memorial Hall at 11:15 a.m. to hear and discuss a variety of topics, receive updates on current projects around church and get information on upcoming events.

Our Spring Clean-Up Day is scheduled for this Saturday, April 30, with an alternate rain date of May 7. We will gather between 9:00 a.m. and Noon to complete necessary tasks to keep our facility in top shape. Many hands make light work.

An Air Conditioning System for the sanctuary has been approved by the con-gregation and is set to be installed this summer. We have already begun to receive some gifts designated for this project and would like to have as much of the cost as possible covered before the system is installed. Please consider a generous gift which will help to increase the comfort of our worship space on hot summer days. We will chart the progress toward our goal of $11,000 on the board in the narthex.

Join us each Wednesday in the chapel at 6:30 p.m. as we gather for our Midweek Divine service. This 35-minute service contains a spoken liturgy, one sung hymn and is different from our Sunday service.

Our Thursday Morning Bible Study meets around the coffee pot at 9:00 a.m. in Memorial Hall. Come join us as we continue our study of the Gospel of Matthew.

Emmanuel members aim to provide scholarships to those children attending an LCMS school. A tuition scholarship is granted to students in a 4K program or above. We look forward to many children of our parish participating this year. If you desire a scholarship for the 2022-23 school year, you must complete the application (available in the narthex) and return it as indicated by May 31. We thank all congregational members for their gifts on the “Christian Ed.” line of their weekly envelope that goes toward this endeavor.

Mark your calendars and get out your recipes. The Board of Christian Education will be sponsoring a Chili Cook-Off on May 13th from 6-8 p.m. More details to come.

Pastor Marks can be reached at the church office or at (920) 400-0425 and is available for any pastoral needs that you might have. Feel free to reach out to him to schedule a visit or just stop by when the porch light is on. Also, let Pastor know if you are in the hospital, having surgery or a procedure, or simply desire prayer for any reason.

The lawn mowing sign-up sheet is available in the narthex. Each year a rotation of volunteers take turns in cutting and trimming the grass at the church and pantry so it can look nice at all times. It is an hour and a half commitment 4-5 times throughout the summer and fall.

Pastor Jonathan Mumme has been offered a position as Associate Professor of Theology at Hillsdale College of Hillsdale, Michigan. This will mean a summer move from Grafton to Hillsdale for the Mumme family. The Mummes joined Emmanuel in 2014 and have enjoyed eight years at our church. They wish to thank the congregation for its friendship and for its faithfulness to Christ over these years. This has been a home with the Lord and his people that has supported all of life during their time in Wisconsin.
