PreGrade Privacy Policy

PreGrade is a Chrome extension designed to help students receive AI-generated feedback and estimated grades on their Canvas assignments.

1. What Data We Collect

• Email addresses as part of account registration and login (via both Google/Firebase and our custom login system).
  
• Assignment files and extracted text (temporarily processed by AI backend, not stored permanently).
  
• Grading results, preferences, and history stored securely in Firebase linked to the user account.
  

2. How We Use Your Data

• To authenticate users securely via Google/Firebase Auth.
  
• To provide personalized grading feedback and allow users to view past grading results.
  
• We do not share, sell, or use your data for advertising.
  

3. Third-Party Services

We use:

• Firebase Authentication for login
  
• Firebase Firestore for storing user data
  
• OpenAI (or equivalent) to generate feedback (assignment text may be temporarily processed)
  

4. Data Retention

User data is stored only while the user account is active. Users can request deletion of all data by contacting us at [your email].
