About Summer in the City
Hosted by St. James Cathedral, Summer in the City (SITC) is a non-residential day camp that hosts thirty young campers ages 8-13 from different parts of Chicago. SITC is an adventure and art camp allowing Chicago youth to discover treasure in their city, themselves and others.

Job Description
The Summer in the City Camp Manager is responsible for creating a safe and smooth operating summer camp. A strong relationship to other leaders, managers, directors, vendors, and Cathedral Staff is vital to the success of this program. The SITC Camp Manager executes many aspects of the camp’s most important functions, including trip and activity planning and preparation, record keeping, and regularly communicating with parents. As a youth development camp, the SITC Camp Manager is expected to lead a team that values hard work and integrity. The Camp Manager is required to attend training and be available for the entire camp. Within the summer camp team, the Camp Manager is responsible for the staff’s and children’s safety.

Additional Skills:

Qualifications: High School Diploma required. Bachelor degree in Youth Development, Education, Social Work or a related field preferred, with a minimum of one year’s experience working in a leadership capacity with children in group.

Job Type: Temporary, Contract      Stipend: $3,000
