Welcome (Tammy Bewitz)

● PTA news and Highlights

○ Westlands Festival background, update, and brainstorming

○ Outdoor classroom -tents are going in!! Look out for a garden work day. Thank you Amanada Lowenberger for taking on this role!

○ PTA officers and elections -please reach out if interested

● Campbell history-Do you know Edmund and Elizabeth?

○ Elizabeth and Edmund Campbell were very active in civil right and social justice issues-desegregation and integration

○ Elizabeth founder of WETA and first school board member

● YTD: Total expenses: $25,553 Total income of $34,410.

Principals update (Maureen Nesselrode)

● COVID cases have been down the last two weeks/sporadic cases

● Facilities are clearing area for install of sun shades

● Planning a spring expeditions all teams will be Campbell focus and outdoor learning more to come

● Planning March conferences (virtual)

● Lottery is opening up to apply for Campbell

● Community Book club for grades 4-5 The Boy at The Back of The Class about a 9 year old refugee

● Book Fair Feb 25th-March 4th -online shopping and in person

● Band and chorus winter showcase- Feb 16th/pretaped

● Musical Feb/March

The Wetlands Festival (fundraiser)

● Background - Green space behind the trailers identified as a space to use for outdoor learning and then a fundraiser happened that raised $17,000 (2011), so because of the effort and space, the Wetlands festival name stuck.

● Brainstorming (Tammy Bewtiz and Rona Jobe)

○ Come up with fun activities during the festival (K9, musical performances, food

trucks, climbing walls, face paint)

○ Need volunteers and help

○ Date for festival TBD (usually end April beginning of May)

● Important dates:

○ Wednesday, Feb. 9 - early release

○ Thursday, Feb. 24 - Restaurant Night at Brick’s Pizza

○ Sunday, Feb. 13- First Graders Playdate (2-4pm) @Glencarlyn Park ○ Tuesday, Feb. 15- Teens & Vaping (virtual 7pm-8:30pm)

○ Thursday, Feb. 17- next School Board meeting

○ Monday, Feb. 21- No School and CCPTA grant deadline 

○ March 3 & 4- Parent-Teacher conferences
