Update from Head Teacher

Staffing Update

• Lindsay Mills, Learning Assistant, now in post. Will spend some time familiarising herself with systems and processes in school, moving to a formalised timetable.
• ELC: Currently recruiting for a 15-hour Learning Assistant post to support ASN within the setting and full-time EYP due to increasing numbers.
• SfL: We have secured some part-time supply to support with SfL across the school. I'm hoping to have somebody in post for after February break.

Participatory Budgeting

• I have contacted people regarding the chess club, art club, and coding club and am awaiting responses.

Parent Consultation Survey

• As part of school improvement, we have been looking to improve dialogue with parents at parent consultations, focusing more on the specific language of learning (on track/not on track etc). We will issue a survey to families to explore more around their understanding of the language of learning and any other things to consider when planning for parent consultation dialogues.

Congratulations

• Congratulations to jemima and family on the birth of Abigail Keerthi Kankipati born on 23rd Dec.

Working Groups and feedback - EASTER EVENT

Donata, Fiona, Gavin, Claire and Jen, Led by Lauren

• Family Picnic - children will have packed lunches from school and we ask adults to bring own lunch and blankets.
• Treasure hunt - Easter hunt we will hide t pictures with letters and ask children to find the letters to then make a word. There will be a prize when completed of a cream egg or vegan option.
• Crafts - we will have some Easter crafts we will source these and share
• Home baking - we will ask for donations and sell this along with tea/coffee/hot chocolate on the day
• ⁠Easter bonnet competition we will ask people to make and bring with them for judging.
• Egg donation - find a place who will accept egg donations kind of like Christmas with toys

Working Groups and feedback - Tesco Stronger Start

Gillian McL, Gillian, Jude, Mrs Cran Led by Kristiana

• Decided on an outdoor hut with open front but sheltered sides
• Outdoor rug and bean bags
• Trolly on wheels for storing books
• Base needed to support the structure
• Total cost applied for £1500
• The form was filled in as we went, Log in details have been sent to Mrs Cran to look over and add to.
• Formm to be with Tesco SS department by Jan 31.
