College CoD 2023 Player Handbook

  1. Preface

  1. The Player Handbook is an evergreen, living document that applies to all CCL events and seasons. Each individual event will have a dedicated Rulebook with specific rules for just that event. A log of changes will be maintained at the end of the document containing all changes to the Player Handbook.
  1. Players and University Staff are expected to know and understand all rules listed in this Player Handbook & The Season Rulebook.
  2. If conclusive evidence is found of exploitation of any rules listed below to help/hurt a team, action may be taken against the involved parties at the discretion of CCL staff.
  1. Team Management

  1. School Eligibility

  1. Schools must be an accredited two-year or four-year academic institution in the United States or Canada.
  2. Regional or satellite campuses of an academic institution will be regarded as two separate schools if they operate as separate athletic departments. Classification is at the discretion of CCL Staff.
  3. Online schools without a physical campus are ineligible.
  1. Team Representative

  1. A team can have a designated ‘team manager’ either from the school or their club to oversee their team and be the primary point-of-contact.
  2. The dedicated team manager cannot be a player on the team. If a team does not have a team manager, the team captain will be the primary point-of-contact for the team.
  1. Team Identification

  1. If a team uses their university name and logo, they must have  express written consent to use the academic institution's name and logo. If the team does not have such permission, they must have an unaffiliated name and logo for the CCL’s use.
  2. Team names must be approved by the University or Gaming Club represented.
  3. Team names must be the School Name/Mascot or a similar school approved name.
