Reflective listening worksheet (PDF)

Answer the following questions

  1. Describe a recent conversation you had with someone.
  2. Reflect on your listening skills during the conversation, what could you have done differently?
  3. Summarize what the speaker said in your own words.
  4. Reflect on the speaker's feelings and needs as they were expressed during the conversation.
  5. Identify any assumptions or judgments you made during the conversation.
  6. Write down specific strategies you will use in future conversations to improve your listening skills.
  7. Reflect on how the conversation went, what did you learn from this experience?
  8. Reflect on how you can apply this learning to other conversations in the future.
