8th Grade

This week’s learning goals:

English:  We will be delving into Unit 4 “Culture and Belonging”  reading textbook and close reader stories.  We will learn about participles, dangling participles, vocabulary for unit 4, and literary terms for unit 4 (etymology)

important English documents and assignments

Math:  Students will continue with Chapter 4 on Solving Linear Equations. This week students will continue learning how to write the equation of a line and learn the point slope formula.

History: Students will be looking at the origins of Islam and the life of Muhammad. Important history documents and assignments

Science: We wrap up our unit on Earth’s rotations and revolution and seasons and will begin to study climate. Check out the seasons unit progress tracker for the learning expectations for the unit. Here’s a link to my website, The Case Files.

Skills Math: Students will continue to review solving for a variable. Test on Wednesday.

Skills English: We will continue reading The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime and working on question packet that goes with our reading. Students will have spelling and vocabulary this week. We will also be working on prepositions.

Spanish: We will have 2 tests this week-grammar and basic words

History:  

Science:  1. Share and discuss graphs and results. 2. Work on finishing and revision to labs. Labs  due in Classroom Wed. 12/13. Thursday 12/14.
