CLEVELAND, Tenn. -- The Bradley Central Bearettes were picked to continue their streak of eight consecutive district championships.

The Bearettes were picked to win District 5 AAA in both the media and coaches’ poll on Wednesday afternoon at the Cleveland Country Club at the annual preseason media day.

Bradley looks to win their ninth straight regular-season district title and 10th straight tournament title during the 2019-20 campaign.

The defending AAA state champions have not lost a game against a district opponent since Dec. 12, 2014, when they fell to Cleveland 49-40 in overtime and have amassed a 56 game winning streak since.

The Bearettes open district play on Dec. 13 against Cleveland at Jim Smiddy Arena with tip-off scheduled at 6 p.m.

This year’s district tournament will be held at Walker Valley on Feb. 19-24.
