Projects

ROV Robotics, 2015-2018

Designed and built the electronics, frame and camera systems for my high school’s competitive underwater robot. We compete in the MATE Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) competition. In the 2017-2018 season, my team placed second at the Monterey regionals.

Antihydrogen Trajectory Simulations, 2017-2018

Modeled variant magnetic configurations for a Monte-Carlo antiatom simulation program.  Produced graphs and videos of the trajectories.  Co-authored a paper on this work,

Zhong, M.; Fajans, J.; Zukor, A., “Axial to transverse energy mixing in octupole-based magnetostatic antihydrogen trap”, published in New Journal of Physics. (https://doi.org/10.1088/1367-2630/aabb84)

Particle Track Reconstruction using a Neural Net, 2017

I helped configure and train a neural net that can reconstruct antihydrogen atom annihilations.

Pulse Simulator, 2017

During an internship at the CERN physics laboratory I built a pulse simulator to simulate pulses from the Large Hadron Collider for equipment testing. (http://www.abezukor.com/2017/07/my-2017-summer-internship-at-cern.html)

Arduino Based Logic Gate Deployed on the ALPHA experiment at CERN, 2016

Designed and built a configurable logic gate using an arduino micro.  The gate is part of the protection circuitry for a superconducting magnet. (Link to source code: https://gist.github.com/abezukor/10195730736d6006bfa7c7c80aa05456)

Model Accelerator, 2016

During an internship at the CERN physics laboratory, I re-designed and built a model accelerator for educational demonstrations. (http://www.abezukor.com/2016/08/summer-2016-cern-internship.html)

Safety Monitoring System, 2015

At CERN, designed and built a Raspberry Pi based system which monitored scientific equipment, and produced a warning if it was not operating correctly.

Android App Development, 2014-2018

Crystallography of  Materials, 2013

Scanned contemporary and 100-year-old ink with (what kind of beam) at the Advanced Light Source (ALS) at the Lawrence Berkeley National Lab (LBNL) to detect differences in crystal structure with aging.

Teaching Experience

3D Printing, 2013-2016, Black Pine Circle School, 2013-16

Lead teaching of 3D printing hardware and software to middle school students.

Scratch Programming,  Black Pine Circle School, 2013-14

Co-taught weekly scratch programming course for kindergarten - second grade

Programming Languages: Java, Javascript, Python, LabView, Android OS App Design, HTML, Linux/Ubuntu OS
