10:00 - 11:15am

Curriculum development through ASTRAL

  • Exoplanet transit inquiry lab for ASTRAL workshop (Ian Weaver, SETI) - 15-20 min presentation
  • Discussion on astronomy curriculum development
  • Curriculum already designed through ASTRAL, new curriculum to be designed
  • Venues for curriculum design: types of courses and programs, student audiences
  • Sharing curriculum elements

11:15 - 11:30am

Break

11:30am - 12:30pm

Connecting astronomy education and outreach efforts across the Bay Area (and beyond)

  • SkyMapper presentation (Tom Esposito, SETI/UC Berkeley) - 20 min presentation
  • Discussion on connecting resources, events, efforts
  • Identifying resources – observatories, planetariums
  • Sharing outreach opportunities and events
  • Elevating astronomy efforts on campuses through public recognition
