YEARBOOK: Past yearbooks will be on sale during Open House tonight. All Sales are cash only! Yearbook will have a table in the upstairs main lobby. The 2025 Yearbook is $125, the 2021, 2022, & 2023 yearbooks are $50, and the 2020 yearbook is $25. We will also have information on how to order the 2026 Yearbook and Senior Ads.
The John Jay Homecoming Dance will be on Saturday, October 11th from 6:30pm-10:30pm here at John Jay. Tickets will be sold online from Friday 10/3 through TODAY, 10/9 for $13.50 or JJ students can pay $20 exact cash at the door. Any John Jay student that wishes to bring a guest from another school must complete a guest form with appropriate administrative signatures prior to purchasing a ticket online. Guest forms can be found in the main office. Guest tickets can NOT be purchased at the door. There is the potential for a long line to purchase a ticket at the door and we highly recommend purchasing tickets online. Each John Jay Student should purchase their OWN ticket so that every ticket has an associated name for safety and security purposes at check-in. **If you are bringing a NON JOHN JAY person as a guest, be sure to type their name in the guest FULL NAME space when purchasing their ticket. If their name does not end up in this space and on the list, they will be denied entry.**
**Be sure to bring a form of identification (License, School ID, printed copy of parent portal with picture) with you and your guest (if applicable) to ensure a smooth check-in process.**
There are no refunds as payments are going through a third-party vendor.
Food and drinks will be available for purchase at the dance!
All attendees and guests are subject to following the WCSD Code of Conduct at all times. All attendees are subject to screening for drugs and alcohol.

To further assist both you and your student with college preparation, during this exciting and sometimes overwhelming time, we are pleased to invite you to an informational Q&A Night, sponsored by the John Jay High School PTSA. This event will be held on Tuesday, October 14th, at 7:00 PM. This is a great opportunity to have your questions answered and learn more about navigating the college admission process.
The session covered essential topics such as the college application process, financial aid, and key deadlines. A copy of the presentation with live links can be found HERE.
We encourage all parents and guardians to attend as the event will provide helpful insights and resources.

In order to add more content and make it more valuable, yearbooks will be delivered to your home in August. Please make sure your home address is correct when ordering. TODAY’S STUDENTS, TOMORROW’S TEACHERS (TSTT) is an organization that partners with several local and national colleges, universities, businesses, and school districts to provide students with mentoring, structured tutoring, academic counseling, and SAT/ACT preparation. In addition, upon successful completion of the TSTT program requirements, qualified students may be eligible for a 50% tuition scholarship in partnership with 20 TSTT college and university partners (The scholarship is not guaranteed based on student participation in the TSTT program and is awarded by the college or university). Ms. Jill Pisculli is the TSTT, Regional Program Manager for Dutchess County. She will be delivering the program during the school day and after school to participating students. After-school activities and opportunities have been crafted that will provide students with both in-the-field and hands-on experiences to help them prepare them for their college career and their professional career in education.

The PSAT will be administered at John Jay High School on Saturday, October 18th. We recommend that all college bound juniors take this exam.
Students taking this test should arrive at school at 7:30am on test day.
ID is required to enter testing rooms.
Students must bring a fully charged WCSD issued Chromebook.
Students are required to bring their own College Board approved calculator.

Bus Pass Procedure: When a student would like to go home on a different bus than normal, they must have a written note handed in to the main office (from Parent/guardian) or they can email a note to : Lisa.Cannizzaro@wcsdny.org Please have your student come to the main office to retrieve their bus pass after 4th period.
Early Dismissal Procedure : When a student must leave school early we require a handwritten note brought to the attendance office or an emailed note sent to the attendance office. When the note is handed in the student will receive a pass to leave class at the appropriate time and Parent/guardian can wait out front of the main lobby doors for their student to sign out in the attendance office and walk out to your car. If there is an emailed note sent to johnjay.attendance@wcsdny.org then our attendance office will call the classroom where your student is at the appropriate time of dismissal to release the student and once again have the student sign out of the attendance office and go out to the parent/guardian’s car. CAPE : This is just a friendly reminder that Teen Driving; A Family Affair fall make up session will be held at Spackenkill High School on Tuesday, October 21, 2025
Registration will be held the evening of the event, beginning at 6:30pm. Program begins promptly at 7:00pm and is approximately 1.5 hours in length.
ATTENTION ALL STUDENTS: If you stay after school for an activity, club or sport, you must have a bus pass from your advisor, teacher or coach to ride the late bus. You will not be allowed on the late bus without a pass. The only reason any student should be on campus after 2:25 is if they are at a club meeting, activity or sport.

Working Papers
If you are in need of a working permit please download the AT-16 and AT 17 below. Fill out only part 1 of the AT-17 and have your parent sign. Then either have your doctor fill out the AT-16 or we will need a copy of your actual physical so that you can submit that to Mrs. Cannizzaro in the main office. You can do this by email or in person. You will most likely receive your work permit within the same day. Email is lisa.cannizzaro@wcsdny.org

JJHS's own award-winning robotics team, the JAYBOTS will be hosting a 3D printing workshop in 2 parts, with the first part starting next weekend. John Jay Cheer: Last night the John Jay cheer program had a strong start to their Game Day competition season. Both Jr Varsity and Varsity took home first place finishes in the Class A divisions at the Minisink Valley HS Invitational.
The Girls Varsity Tennis Team prevailed in a battle of undefeated League Champions, beating Lourdes 4 to 1, and closing out their official season with a 13 to 0 record. The 2nd Doubles team of Isabella Ciraco and Naya Patel served up a double bagel, while in 2nd SIngles Tina Zhang served a breadstick and a bagel. At least Lourdes did not go home hungry.
Wappingers’s Titans girls varsity swimming was victorious over Suffern high school swimming on Tuesday, October 7. Final score 96 to 87. Looking forward to more great swimming as we prepare to race Arlington High school on Thursday.

The Wappingers Boys Volleyball team will be hosting their Pink Out Game and Senior Night on Wednesday, October 15th, against Arlington at Ketcham. The event will begin with the JV game at 4:00 PM, followed by the Varsity match immediately after.
Athletes of the Week 9/29/25 - 10/5/25
Margaret Bojarczuk, Volleyball - (sophomore setter) had 34 assists in our match versus RCK Friday night. It was a five set battle but Margarets setting kept us in the game.
Justin Brancamp, Soccer - The senior defender helped the Boys Soccer Team beat Ketcham in a tough league matchup earning him Man of the Match for the Patriots!
Brooke Cameron, Field Hockey - scored twice in our 3-0 win over our rival Ketcham . She also scored and had an assist in our victory over Brewster .
Josie Koehler, Soccer - senior center midfielder. Josie anchored the defensive side of the ball for the girl's varsity soccer team in a 1-0 win versus Horace Greeley. With that win the girl's soccer team is now 5-1-3 on the season.
Logan Lawrence, Football - QB threw for 356 yds and 4 touchdowns in a 37-24 win over New Rochelle.
Emma Mezarina, WCSD Swimming - for dropping 9 seconds in her 500 freestyle going an all time personal best swims. Amazing effort Emma
Tina Zhang, Tennis - Freshman, has dropped only one game in 11 matches. Her impressive 11-0 match record is one of the reasons why the Girls Varsity Tennis team heads into the last days of the season undefeated.
GIRLS LACROSSE: Any girl interested in playing girls lacrosse this spring, please email coach Rowan (sean.rowan@wcsdny.org) in order to be added to the google classroom. All information regarding off season workouts will be posted there
After school weight room for the Fall is open Mondays through Thursdays. Students must report by 2:35pm or have a pass if arriving later. Athletic attire is required, and late bus passes are given out at 3:30pm. The code to join the google classroom is fsn3vqz. Please join to be aware of Cancellations and other announcements.
