Cookies are small text files that are sent to or accessed from your web browser or your computer's hard drive. Persistent cookies remain on your personal computer or mobile device when you go offline, while session cookies are deleted as soon as you close your web browser. A cookie also may contain information about your computer or device, such as settings, browsing history and activities conducted while using our Services.

RocaNews also uses “pixels” (sometimes called web beacons). Pixels are transparent images that can collect information about website usage across websites and over time. Pixels and similar data collection technology enable RocaNews to monitor traffic patterns from one webpage to another, to deliver or communicate with cookies, to understand whether users visit our Services after seeing our online advertisement displayed on a third-party website, to improve performance of our Services and to measure the success of our email marketing campaigns.

Cookies and third party advertising.

The categories of personal information collected by these cookies may include identifiers, commercial information, internet or other network activity, and sensitive personal information. We may share your personal information collected through these cookies to the following categories of third parties: service providers, third party advertising and analytics partners, and business partners.

  1. Performance or Analytics cookies

Performance cookies, which are sometimes called analytics cookies, collect information about your use of the Services and enable us to improve the way the Services work. For example, performance cookies show us which are the most frequently visited pages on the Services, allow us to see the overall patterns of usage on the Services, help us record any difficulties you have with the Services and show us whether our advertising is effective or not. The categories of personal information collected by these cookies may include identifiers, commercial information, internet or other network activity, and sensitive personal information. We may allow service providers, business partners, and other third parties to use third-party cookies and similar technologies to track your browsing activity over time and across the Services and third party websites for targeted advertising purposes. Personal information collected from these cookies may be combined with other personal information to create inferences about you.

  1. Browsing and Functionality Cookies

Functionality cookies allow us to remember the choices you make when using our Services and to provide enhanced and more personalized features, such as customising a certain webpage, remembering if we have asked you to participate in a promotion, remembering your login details or language preference, and for other services you request, like watching a video or commenting on a blog. All these features help us to improve your visit to and use of the Services. The categories of personal information collected by these cookies may include identifiers, commercial information, internet or other network activity, and sensitive personal information. We may share your personal information collected through these cookies to the following categories of third parties: service providers and business partners.

  1. Targeting or Advertising cookies

Cookie Choices.

You have the right to decide whether to accept or reject non-essential cookies.  You can set your browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is set. We have provided information below about how you can control the use of cookies by RocaNews and third parties. Please note that disabling cookies may impact certain Service functionality.

  1. Disabling cookies

To learn more about cookies generally, visit www.allaboutcookies.org. You may remove yourself from the targeted advertising of companies within the Network Advertising Initiative by opting out here, or of companies participating in the Digital Advertising Alliance program by opting out here. For more information particularly regarding targeting and advertising cookies and how you can opt out, you can also visit http://www.youronlinechoices.com. The Digital Advertising Alliance provides an opt-out mobile app to control interest-based advertising on apps on your mobile device, available on the Apple Store, Google Play, and Amazon’s Appstore.

  1. Do Not Track and Opt-Out Preference Signals

Some web browsers (including Safari, Internet Explorer, Firefox and Chrome) incorporate a “Do Not Track” (DNT) or similar feature that signals to websites that a user does not want to have his or her online activity and behavior tracked.  If a website that responds to a particular DNT signal receives the DNT signal, the browser blocks that website from collecting certain information from the browser cache. Not all browsers offer a DNT option and DNT signals are not yet uniform. For this reason, many website operators, including RocaNews, do not yet respond to DNT signals.

We currently do not recognize opt-out preference signals, such as the Global Privacy Control (available here), as a request to opt-out of the sale or sharing of your personal information.

  1. Your browser settings

You may refuse to accept non-essential cookies at any time by activating the setting on your browser which allows you to refuse such cookies. The cookie setting configuration for each browser is different. More information about managing cookies on different browsers can be found at the links provided below:
