From the Headteacher:
Christmas is fast approaching and the school is starting to prepare. The children in year 2 and 3 are busy rehearsing for their nativity: Superstar; and reception and year 1 are rehearsing for their Christmas show. The decorations are coming down from the loft, and this week the staff have planned some Christmas activities with the children to decorate the display boards. This evening, the school choir will be performing in a carol concert at the town hall in Oxford, we wish them luck and know they will represent the school beautifully.
Mini bus drivers:
Are there any willing parents out there who have time on their hands and would be happy to take a minibus driving test? Although several of the TAs can drive the minibuses, we aren’t always able to take them from classes. If we had a couple of parent drivers who would be willing to go on school trips that would be an amazing help to all of us. If you are interested, please let Sammy know and we can arrange this for you. It will not involve you paying for anything as school will cover the costs.
Early morning supervision:
There are a few children arriving at school very early in the mornings. Our concern is that they are out on the playground unsupervised for sometimes 20 minutes or more. If your children walk or cycle to school on their own, can you please make sure they don’t arrive at school too early, if anything happened in the playground, there are no adults outside to support them.
This term each class will visit the Didcot Library, on these visits the children will listen to a story and will be able to choose some books to bring home. If your child decides to bring books home, the school will arrange to take them back to the library.
