Haileybury Hearts - Training Supervision & Safety Policy
Purpose
To ensure the safety and wellbeing of all players during training by outlining clear supervision procedures for arrival, departure, toilet breaks, and the presence of siblings at the venue.
Court Supervision
For the 4:30pm junior training timeslot, team managers will assign a court supervisor for their own team/court. The supervisor will be identifiable via a high viz vest. This supervisor will help monitor the environment, support player safety, and assist with escorting players to bathroom corridor if bathroom breaks are required .
For players Under 11 and younger, should not be dropped off in the car park and left to walk to courts alone. These players must be escorted by a parent, guardian, or approved carer to their designated court or training area.
For players Under 13 sections and above, parents and guardians may choose whether to escort their child to the court or allow them to walk from the car park. Regardless of the chosen approach, we ask families to prioritise player safety and ensure their child is confident and capable of moving safely to and from the training area.
All players should arrive no more than 10 minutes before the scheduled start of training.
A coach or team official will be present at the court from the start time only.
For players Under 11 and younger, must be collected promptly at the end of training from their designated court. These players will not be permitted to leave the court area unattended or wait in the car park. They are to wait in the indoor courts until a parent arrives to collect them.
For players Under 13 sections and above, parents and guardians may choose whether to escort their child from, the court or allow them to walk to the car park. Regardless of the chosen approach, we ask families to prioritise player safety and ensure their child is confident and capable of moving safely to and from the training area.
If a parent is running late, they must notify the team coach or manager as soon as possible.
A minimum of two coaches or club officials will supervise children of any age until they are picked up.
Children who are not participating in training (siblings or others) must be supervised at all times by a parent or guardian.
No child is to be left unsupervised at the venue before, during, or after training.
Players and parents are encouraged to use the bathroom before training to minimise disruption and maintain safety.
If a player needs to use the toilet during training:
Coaches will maintain full awareness of player whereabouts at all times.
If a player, sibling, coach, assistant coach or parent/guardian observes suspicious/unusual behaviour they need to advise the coach or club official straight away. Suggested steps:
