Our program needs YOUR help to positively represent our school and community!

Our band hopes to expand by being able to offer the opportunity to those who do not have the means to participate.  In our program we have seven performing groups.  We have two jazz bands, two concert bands, a marching band, percussion ensemble, and a color guard that performs in the fall and the winter. The LHS Band has received a consistent A rating (Superior) at all FBA events and was the first Lake County band in over 35 years to get straight superior ratings at the State Concert Band Festival back in 2009 – an accomplishment we’ve done again in 2010, 2013, 2014, and 2015!  This makes our overall program among the top 10% in the state!  In addition, in 2017 the band was honored as one of only 8 bands in the USA to be invited to perform with Pershing’s Own US Army Band in Washington, DC.  After a challenging few years, a change in leadership, and rebuilding we’re looking to once again become a pillar of the Leesburg Community.  We’re off to a good start, we received high ratings at state and district assessments this year, placed well in marching competitions,  had students participating in solo festivals and honor bands, done multiple community performances, worked bikefest, and have restarted our 501c3 booster organization, SOS Inc. of Leesburg High School.  However, like most things, our goal requires funds.  We’re currently in the process of getting new uniforms for our school’s Centennial year.  These will cost us slightly over $80,000 and as of May we’ve raised 52% of that goal which is due in October.  On top of this we need funds to cover competition fees, travel, equipment, staff, and instrument purchasing/repairs.

We provide over 95% of the funding necessary for the band to function. We are an organization that prides ourselves on service in the community and not door-to-door sales of products which is why we reach out to partner with businesses. In fact, YOU are responsible for our existence – in 1926 businesses came together and hired a director from Indiana to start the band at LHS. This is truly a community band and as business owners we hope you will feel the sense of pride knowing that you have contributed to the lives of our youth.
