Student Learning Centre (SLC)

The SLC will reopen with reduced capacity starting September 8 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. for students who need a quiet, distraction-free space and a reliable internet connection. You will soon be able to make an online reservation for a study carrel and enter the building using your OneCard. Group study rooms will remain closed, as the intent with the selective re-opening is to prioritize students who don’t have a suitable environment to study elsewhere. Follow the SLC on Instagram @ryersonslc, for the latest information on the re-opening.

Canadian Disinformation Network

A group of ComCult faculty and students meet each week as part of a collaborative research project that contributes to the Canadian Disinformation Network -- a national research initiative co-led by Professors Ganaele Langlois (York), Wendy Chun (SFU), Greg Elmer (Ryerson), Fenwick McKelvey (Concordia), and Ahmed Al-Rawi (SFU).

Please feel free to reach out to Comcult professors Elmer or Langlois if your work touches on issues of online harassment, racism, far-right activities, or internet politics in general. We welcome new research team members with an interest or background in media, communication & cultural theory, critical ethnographic methods, research creation, or experimental online research methods, including but not limited to digital methods. See the Infoscape research lab website for more details. gelmer@ryerson.ca & ganaele@yorku.ca
