Synergy Grade Book is set up with 2 score types, Raw Score and Percentage. However, teachers have the option to set up additional score types to suit his/her grading method. We encourage teachers to not have more than 2-3 score types as it may be confusing for students and parents to decode and to understand how the final grade has been calculated.
Sample Score Type: Ms. Adams uses the existing Percentage Score Type for her assignments. However she does a lot of group work with assigned roles, such as Facilitator, Resource Manager, etc. Rather than struggle to decide between a 82% or 85% value for a given student, She would like to quickly input a score of 1,2,3 or 4 each time she does group work based on each student’s participation. See the % value and description for 1-4.
1= 50% (Student disrupted other from assigned role)
2= 60% (Student did not follow assigned role)
3= 90% (Student followed assigned role)
4= 100% (Student followed & encouraged members to follow assigned role)
