Parent Directions for Google Classroom
- Go to Lexington’s homepage. Click on the Parents/Students tab for drop down selection. Choose “Resource Applications” and this will open “Clever” You will find google classroom on this page along with most of the other apps, links, etc. that we use in Third Grade. Click on Google Classroom.
- A Google Sign in page will appear asking for an email. Your child’s email is the last two numbers of the year they will graduate, then the first 4 letters of their last name and the first letter of their first name. After that it is @cloud.lexington.k12.oh.us
Example of a third grader named Joe Smith:
33smitj@cloud.lexington.k12.oh.us
- Click next after you have entered their email.
- This will bring you to another sign in page (for security). Enter the first part of their email that comes before the @ sign. (Ex: 33smitj) (The system will automatically fill in the rest of their email.) Then type in their password which is their lunch number.
- You will then be into the Google Classroom. Click on the Classwork tab at the top to see all work assigned from the teacher.
- Click View Assignment under the work assigned. This will open a new tab in Google Slides showing their work. Complete the assignment.
- Once a student has finished their work THEY DO NOT NEED TO SAVE IT. (This may feel unusual, but Google automatically saves it for them.) They need to “X” out of (close) that tab. (Do not hit the share button or try to click on anything else.)
- This takes them back to Google Classroom and a black “Turn In” button will appear. Click that button to turn in the assignment. If the black turn in button does not appear, click view assignment again and then you should see it.
