I got an email, which I thought was just another spam or scam message. As soon as you release a game on Steam, your inbox BLOWS UP with a bunch of emails that are basically scammers trying to steal your game. Those of you that have released a game on Steam are VERY aware of this.
A few months after we released Flood: The Prequel, I got an email from some guy named Steve. Needless to say, I completely ignored it. He sent another email a few days later, and I promptly ignored that as well. About a month and a half later, he sent me another email following up, and I finally decided to read more than the subject line this time. Turns out Steve is a game developer and found some bugs in my game that needed to be addressed.
After reading the review from Sam on Christ Centered Gamer, I came to the conclusion that Flood was NOT ready for release when we decided to launch it. Steve went on to say that he is not only another game developer but he makes Christian games as we do. He wanted me to check out his game Alpha/Omega, and I did. It is an awesome game and MUCH more functional than Flood was at the time. I decided to FINALLY reply to his many emails.
He told me that after playing Flood and finding the many issues with it, he would be willing to fix them. I was actually thinking to myself, If something is too good to be true, it usually is. In the back of my mind, I was still thinking this was some sort of scam. After doing some research, I found out that Steve is the CEO of Bud Games and, quite frankly, more qualified to run my business than I am.
After spending a lot of time in prayer, I felt like God was intervening with what His will was for me and God Inspired Games, so I decided to add him as a developer with access to the Steam Works profile for Flood. In retrospect, I feel like God laid it on Steve’s heart to reach out to me to help make Flood what God intended from the beginning.
I completely ignored Steve in the beginning, but Steve did not ignore God’s subtle push and continued to persist, even though I was not listening. I am really glad Steve was listening. Since Bud Games and God Inspired Games has started collaborating together, we have come a long way. Bud Games finished the TLC update for Flood in December, and we will be releasing the update after we do some much-needed marketing for it. We have decided to continue working together on making both of our games available on mobile and developing future titles together.
The main point of this is this: if you are hitting a roadblock in life, pay attention. God may be reaching out to you through your brothers or sisters in Christ. God has a plan. It is up to us to follow it.
“Trust God from the bottom of your heart; don’t try to figure out everything on your own.
Listen for God’s voice in everything you do, everywhere you go; he’s the one who will keep you on track. Don’t assume that you know it all.” Proverbs 3:5-6 (MSG)

Steve, thank you. You have been a major influence in my life recently, and I am really glad you LISTEN to God. God Bless you.
Thank you all for reading my testimony, I really hope it helps.
Have a wonderful day and, as always, God Bless.
