Kathy Darlene Hazel age 61, passed peacefully in her home after a seven year battle with cancer on Monday, June 4, 2018. From her birth in Greencastle, Indiana on September 3, 1956 to her death on Monday, Kathy thought of others before herself. Her family was most important. She was born to James Veachel Hazel and Audrey Elizabeth (Ward) Hazel. Siblings preceding her in death are sister, Donna Faye Luttrell; and brother, James Michael Hazel. Remaining siblings are Nancy Baumann, Ron Hazel, Dianna Higgins, Gary Hazel, and David Hazel. Kathy's life partner, Melanie Graves and daughters, Bailey Hazel-Graves and Marli Haddan will cherish many beautiful memories of their family life out in the country. Kathy enjoyed fishing, camping, stargazing, and morel mushroom hunting. Kathy served in the Army early in life and later fulfilled her dream of owning a dog boarding kennel next to her home in rural Bloomington, Indiana, that still tops any other. She loved her own pets dearly. A private family celebration of life ceremony is pending. Per Kathy's wish, in lieu of flowers, a small donation for daughter Bailey's college education sent to the family's home address would be appreciated. |
