Focus areas that we can support women within our community.
- Collaborate with local women's initiative and create broader networking group
- Collaborate with other organizations and conduct sessions on college admissions, volunteering opportunities, raising children etc.
- Also a forum where people can exchange / buy / sell really good used sarees, Indian dresses, Indian jewelry amongst this community itself like stuff they are fed up of using but so good they can’t trash and don’t know what to do with it as they are in America.Garage sale is a good idea but a one time thing may be an Indian swap and shop page or something where they can continuously do this.
- Conduct events where they can let their creative side out, not everyone gets an opportunity.. some fear stage, some fear shame, some just don’t get opportunities or a stage to get their creative side out there
- When new families come to US - Minneapolis, we can create something that they (the wife) can reach out and help her settle in and make her feel part of a community from day one
- Awareness for moms to handle teenagers, avoid teen pregnancies
- Awareness about career options , resume building etc
- A forum where they can talk loudly about their feelings , mid life crisis , menopause , their spiralling thoughts , their dark place ..
- Collaborate with MMA local business and get discount code for MMA women from jewelry dress beauty businesses by people in our community
- Including sports activities for women, like throwball, participating in a 5K race or something.
- Doing a MMA ladies only picnic or Chai time kind of gathering just to know each other, games, sports and introduce the new budding entrepreneurs in our community.
- Making a reservation to do a Feed My Starving Children (FMSC) kind of charity event with interested ladies in the community.
- We can try to connect with the Meals on Wheels kind of organization and try delivering food in some areas for the senior community.
- Working on getting interested ladies to get involved in some kind of voluntary initiatives through our county websites by passing on to them based on the cities they are looking for.
- Physical mental abuse / counseling.
