In Advanced photography we build on skills learned in Intro to Photography. We use DSLR cameras and shoot primarily in manual mode. Students will learn basic photo editing as well.
Course Expectations and Assessments
Each unit has a set of photos that are assigned, most often as a primary grade. Each student will also have three works showcased at our annual Art Show in May.
T1 Unit 1 Photography Basics
Unit 2 Composition
T2 Unit 3 Adobe Basics
Unit 4 Exposure Triangle
T3 Unit 5 Lighting
Unit 6 Studio Photography
T4 Unit 7 History of Photography
In Advanced Photography, I look first and foremost for effort. Students who complete work, and try their best are the most successful. Each assignment has clearly defined directions, which should also be followed. In doing that, EVERY student should be able to grow as an artist, regardless of where their artistic skills were at the beginning of the course.
Required and Recommended Materials
Students who need extra time or assistance may schedule time with me either during B lunch, or after school. If time is needed after school, I ask for 24 hours notice for scheduling purposes.
