In Advanced Photography we build on skills learned in Intro to Photography. We will use DSLR cameras and shoot primarily in manual mode. We will also experiment with phone cameras and film cameras, as well as employ fine art techniques in photo based projects. Students will learn basic photo editing as well.
Course Expectations and Assessments
Each unit has a set of photos that are assigned, most often as a primary grade. Each student will also have three works showcased at our annual Art Show in May.
T1 Unit 1 Photography Basics
Unit 2 Composition
T2 Unit 3 Exposure Triangle
Unit 4 Adobe Basics
T3 Unit 5 Lighting
Unit 6 Studio Photography
T4 Unit 7 History of Photography
In Advanced Photography, I look first and foremost for effort. Students who complete work, and try their best are the most successful. Each assignment has clearly defined directions, which should also be followed. In doing that, EVERY student should be able to grow as an artist, regardless of where their artistic skills were at the beginning of the course.
Required and Recommended Materials
Most assignments are given an extended period of time for completion, including during class time. If a student needs extra time they must coordinate with me. All assignments are turned in via Google Classroom. If there are any issues with this they must discuss this with Mr. Weber before the due date.
