General info about IITH for newcomers: here

Accomodation for interns is provided in ODF hostels only and not in Kandi hostels. See this document for the distance between these hostels/campus and commute options:

Your guide will send an email to (along with faculty in-charge for allotment of hostel room) for requesting a hostel room during the internship. You need to tell your dates of stay at IITH to hostel office.

The contact numbers of IITH hostel:

Landline: 040 2301 6047

Mobile No.: 94 92 11 6047

As of Mar'18, the accommodation charges are 120/- per day and a maximum of 1200/- per month. (This is subject to change, so always consult hostel office for up-to-date information). This can be paid in cash or through online transfer.

If you need to leave early due to unforeseen reasons, you need to write a letter  to the warden requesting to return accommodation charges for the excess paid. You also need to attach the bank account pass book front copy. The hostel office will  calculate accommodation charges for number of days stayed and return the excess paid.

Summer interns should vacate the hostel room typically by 20th July so that new incoming students can be accomodated.

Once you arrive, the hostel office will give you a form, which you need to get signed by the guide (faculty).

Institute buses run from ODF hostels to the Kandi campus regularly. Please obtain and follow the bus schedule.

Internship certificate:

At/towards the completion of internship, send an email to the your guide (and cc our staff) with the title of the internship. Our staff will print the certificate and then, you can get it signed by the guide.

See CSE staff here: . As of Nov’17, out staff Mr. Ram ( takes care of internship certificate.

The stipend (if any) is given through online transfer to the bank account. For this, provide your bank account details to the staff.
