Woodward Middle School Clubs & Activities
2024-2025
This group is for anyone who cares about the Woodward community. Founded by Woodward Students, this group works to empower and educate others on what it means to be empathetic and strong in the face of anti-semitism, racism, gender equity, LGBTQ issues as well as other forms of discrimination. All are welcome.
Mr. Spitz – Library – Thursdays at 8:15 am
This club promotes leadership, teamwork and caring about others. As a club, we are involved in a variety of service projects: food and clothing drives, making fleece blankets for vet clinics to provide comfort to animals after surgery, collecting books to ship overseas to needy communities and much more. This club is for all students and new members are always welcome and encouraged to attend.

The purpose of the WMS chess club is to provide opportunities for all students to participate in playing chess. All students are welcome regardless of experience. The goal of the group is to promote sportsmanship and the enjoyment of playing chess.

Cook, Sew, and Create: FCCLA is a club that includes cooking, crafting and sewing. The Family, Career and Community Leaders of America will meet in Ms. Sandoval's room starting second semester.

Before school homework club is open to any student needing help throughout the year. This club gives students a quiet place to do homework, work on projects and take tests before school. Homework Club meets five mornings a week in Room 206 beginning at 8:00 am.

Do you enjoy math and problem solving? Do you like working as a team? Do you think competitions are fun? Come to Math Team! You will be coached by Cyrus Yan and we will practice and compete.
Ms. Grindeland - Room 215 - Wednesdays 8 am - 8:55am.
A place to chill, chat and listen to music.
Mr. Harris -Room 304 - Tuesdays 3:30- 4:30 pm
Knowledge Bowl involves teams of kids answering a wide variety of academic trivia questions. It is similar to a game show where you “buzz in” and then, if you get it right, you earn points for your team.
Ms. Carlson - Room 218 - Tuesdays 3:30 - 4:30 pm
Do you like to use tools? Do you like technology? Do you like to design and build stuff? If so, then Skills USA Club is the club for you! Skills USA Club is the only student organization devoted exclusively to the needs of students interested in technology. The diversity of activities makes this club a positive experience for every student. If you are looking for a fun outlet for your creativity, design & build skills, leadership, and community service, then Skills USA is a great choice for you.

This activity promotes the learning of speech and debate. Our goals are to create a safe space for learning speech and debate.
Ms. Longridge - Room 201 - Every Other Thursday 3:30 - 4:30 pm
Woodward Writers Group meets every Tuesday from 3:30 - 4:30 in Room 213 with Ms. Garfield. This is the place to be if you want more time to write your stories, poems, novels, and you want to share your ideas/writing with a small group of creative people. All are welcome!
