Kasey,
I’m a big fan of the podcast and really enjoyed the episode with Morgan about the future of teaching. I thought your listeners would be excited to hear about a recent story from an educator at Brigham Young University.
Marie Orton teaches a mid-level Italian course and has kept her students engaged while on Zoom through a teaching style she developed well before the pandemic—culinary arts. She cooks traditional Italian recipes with them (remotely) to help them learn the language and be immersed in the culture of Italy.
There are many fun ways to creatively engage students in online classrooms, even if it can’t always be something as delicious as authentic Italian food. I think your listeners would really enjoy hearing about her teaching and seeing how they can create a similar experience for their classes.
Would you be interested in having Marie as a guest on your podcast to talk about her teaching? I’m happy to help provide more information about the story and help you get connected with her.
Thank you,
Jacob Warnock
