MARSHA CRONINGER

Occupation: Incumbent

Education and Qualifications: Santa Barbara Community College needs

proven, experienced leadership to keep SBCC focused on serving our

Community.

As a trustee at SBCC I prioritize programs that meet the needs of our community

and improve student success. I am a former high school teacher and retired

environmental attorney with 11 years legal experience working for California

government and 14 years in the private sector as a partner in two international

law firms. I served two terms as President of the SBCC Board.

I am running for trustee to:

Keep SBCC focused on state funded programs serving students and community

members from newborn through senior;

Emphasize local enrollment including the Promise Program, Dual Enrollment,

credit, noncredit and Adult Education;

Stabilize credit enrollment at a sustainable size that respects our community,

campus and fiscal resources;

Expand career programs including healthcare for well paid jobs without a BA;

Advocate thoughtful conservative spending of taxpayer dollars focused on

education;

Support quality programs and teaching that meet student needs.

My campaign is supported by local residents and community leaders including

current SBCC Board President Kate Parker, and Trustees Peter Haslund and

Robert Miller.
