| Activity 2 Have you been following along on our caterpillar to butterfly journey on Class Dojo? See the images below. Create a picture of what you think our butterflies will look like. You can draw, paint, and add fun embellishments like stickers, flowers/dandelions, glitter, or anything else you have at home! |
2 | Activity 1: Letter Treasure Hunt Hide alphabet cards around the house (you can write letters on small pieces of paper). Have your child go find them! With each letter they find, have them say the letter and what sound it makes. For an extra challenge, see if they can come up with a word that starts with that letter. Have fun finding them all! | Activity 2: Sensory Play Dough
En Espanol In English |
3 | Activity 1: Little Raindrops Falling Down Sing along to the song below and do the movements together! You can repeat the song as many times as you like. Bee pose - kneel on your knees, reach both arms out to the side, lean side to side like a bee flying and say BZZZ! 2. Grasshopper pose - stand with your feet slightly wider than shoulder width apart, lower down into a squat position and hold. Jump like a grasshopper! 3. Butterfly pose - sit on your bottom and put your feet together. You can move your legs up and down like butterfly wings. 4. Dragonfly pose - lay down on your tummy. Put your hands on the ground under your shoulders. Lift one leg up into the air to fly like a dragonfly! |
4 | Activity 1: Inviting others to Play First, teach your child that the word invite means to ask someone to play. Inviting others to play is a good way to make friends. When children invite others to play, they:
Play a game with your child to practice inviting others to play. Say: We’re going to play Telephone. We each have our own pretend phone. First I’m going to pretend to call you and invite you to play with me. Make a call on your pretend phone. Make a ringing sound. When your child answers his or her pretend phone, say: Hello, ! I am going to play a game. Would you like to play with me? Talk to each other on your pretend phones. Say good-bye and then have your child call you and invite you to play. | Activity 2: Umbrella Bean Bag Toss
Open an umbrella and place it upside down on the floor. Have your child stand a few feet back and practice throwing bean bags into the umbrella. If you don’t have bean bags, you can use anything soft and easy to hold (i.e. - small balls, rolls of toilet paper, etc.). |
5 | Activity 1:Number Line Hop Materials Sidewalk Chalk Cards (or small papers) with numbers 1-10 written on them Begin by drawing a number line on the sidewalk with chalk. Write all numbers 1-10 evenly spaced apart. Have your child draw a number card. Ask them to identify the number and then jump that many number of spaces on the number line. For an extra challenge, you could do this activity in the same way but using numbers 1-20.
| Activity 2: All About Me Draw a picture of yourself (Remember the Mat Man Song to help you remember all the parts of your body to include!) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ec7J57YewxQ
Next, add more details to your picture: What is your favorite color? Draw something that color! What is your favorite food? Draw your favorite food! What is your favorite toy to play with? Draw it! How old are you? Can you write the number? After you have added all the details, tell someone in your family all about what you drew! Maybe you could call a family member that you don’t live with and tell them about your picture! |
