Hadley Boys Basketball

Hadley has a 7th and 8th grade boy’s basketball team. The coaches are looking for

committed athletes eager to improve their game while learning how to play team basketball.

The boy’s season begins in mid-November and lasts through mid-January. The teams are

part of the Illinois Prairie Athletic Conference.

Equipment needed: Basketball shoes

Costs: $40 Athletic Fee

Location: Hadley

Tryouts: Tryouts take place over two or three days after school in late October. The

teams will be chosen by the coaches based upon basketball skills, work ethic, and

attitude. Approximately 12 to 15 players will be chosen for the team.

Practices: Practices are every weekday unless there is a game. Practices may be before

school at 7:15 AM or immediately after school until 5:00. A practice schedule will be

provided at the start of the season.

Schedule: Games generally take place at 4pm or 5pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays. 7th and 8th grade teams play one after the other with the first game starting at 4pm. 7th plays first on

Tuesdays while 8th plays first on Thursdays. There may also be a weekend tournament during the season. Athletes are bused to and from away games except for the weekend tournament.

Athlete Expectations: Adhere to student-athlete code of conduct. Be present and on

time for all practices and games. Be a positive teammate. Be a focused participant in

practices and games whether playing or on the bench.

Playing Time: Playing time is determined based upon the level of competition.

Not all players will play in each game, but every player will get significant playing time

during the season.

Communication: Communication is accomplished through parent and player meetings,

e-mail, and through announcements at practices.
