The website helps coordinate volunteers with people in Daly City who need groceries delivered to their homes. This is not for free pantry groceries - but rather for people who are financially able to shop at grocery stores and can not leave their homes due to Covid or other reasons. “Every week, our pantry network distributes fresh, seasonal produce, lean protein, grain, and shelf-stable items to anyone who is struggling to buy food. During the COVID-19 crisis, we have launched pop-up pantries that are open to the public; no need to show ID or sign in to receive groceries every week.Due to the “shelter in place” order, we ask that you only attend one pantry and send one person per household to pick up groceries.” | ||
Pet Food Bank: Peninsula Humane Society | Peninsula Humane Society & SPCA is providing assistance to San Mateo County pet owners who are low-income or for those who are high-risk and in self-isolation. We will not be requiring income or health verification, but we do hope people will be honest and not access the food bank unless needed. SFUSD will provide free meals to all children 18 and younger during the school closure. 19 sites will be open 9-10 a.m., Monday through Friday, to pick-up breakfast, lunch, supper, fresh fruit, vegetables and milk to take home. No identification or proof of school enrollment is required, but a child must be present. Shelf-stable meals will also be available.
