Operations & Data Analyst
Location: Woburn (MA), In-Office
Duration: Summer 2024 and Fall 2024
About Us:
The Desai Foundation is an international nonprofit organization that empowers women and children through community programming to elevate health, livelihood, and menstrual equity in rural India. Our internship program offers students and recent graduates the opportunity to enhance their skills while contributing to our mission. We seek interns in various departments, including Operations, Data, Marketing, Development, Fundraising, Events, and Administration, for the Summer 2024 and Fall 2024.
Position Overview:
As an intern at the Desai Foundation, you will have the chance to work closely with our experienced team in the US and India and gain hands-on experience in your chosen field. This internship is designed to provide you with valuable insights, real-world experience, and networking opportunities while contributing to our organization's growth and impact.
Responsibilities:
- Provide operations and administrative support to various departments.
- Screen incoming correspondence, phone calls, and emails appropriately.
- Assist with data entry, filing, and documentation.
- Prepare and verify invoices, manage expense reports, deposit checks, and update financial spreadsheets.
- Maintain and update company databases, spreadsheets, and records, ensuring the accuracy and accessibility of information for all departments.
- Collaborate with various departments on special projects to improve operational and data management efficiencies and achieve organizational goals.
- Order and manage office supplies, equipment, and general office cleanliness to keep the office environment organized and well-maintained.
- Take on additional responsibilities and tasks as assigned by the Operations team, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to learn and grow within the role.
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in a degree program or recently graduated
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Proactive, self-motivated, and eager to learn
- Detail-oriented and organized
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Previous experience or passion for the non-profit sector would be considered an asset
