Brief Solution-Focused Therapy Worksheet

Step 1: Identify Your Goals

Write down what you want to achieve. It can be a personal goal, a work-related goal, or a relationship goal.

  • What is your main goal?
  • What will it look like when you achieve it?
  • Who will benefit from this goal being achieved?

Step 2. Find Your Strengths

Identify the skills, abilities, or resources you have that can help you reach your goal.

  • What strengths do you already have?
  • How have you used these strengths in the past?
  • Who in your life can support you with this goal?

Step 3. Determine Small Steps

Now, think about the small steps you can take to achieve your goal. These steps should be achievable and practical.

  • What is one small step you can take today?
  • What can you do this week to get closer to your goal?
  • What resources do you need to take these steps?

Step 4. Reflect on Progress

Take a moment to reflect on your progress so far. Celebrate any achievements, no matter how small.

  • What have you accomplished since you started?
  • What are you most proud of?
  • What have you learned about yourself through this process?

Step 5. Adjust as Needed

Sometimes, plans change, and that's okay. Adjust your goals or steps if needed. Keep focused on your strengths and the solutions that work for you.

  • Is there anything you'd like to change about your plan?
  • What obstacles have you encountered, and how did you overcome them?
  • What new goals do you have after completing this worksheet?
