Athletic Placement Process (APP) Process for Families

* This process is for 7th & 8th-grade scholar-athletes*

* Steps 1-5 must be followed in sequential order*

1. An ICSD coach or PE teacher recommends your scholar. This recommendation is not prompted by the parent, guardian or caregiver. See the APP timeline on the website APP Timeline.

2. If a recommendation is approved, the Director of Athletics and Wellness and/or designee sends a link from Family ID to parent, guardian or caregiver, including forms that need to be electronically filled out.

3. Once forms are received from the parents/guardians/caregivers, the APP committee approval process begins.

4. If your scholars are approved by the APP committee, the fitness test is the final part of the approval process. The Administrative Assistant to the Director of Athletics and Wellness will contact families stating approval to try out.

5. At the fitness test, the fitness test proctor will notify the scholar and their family of the fitness test results.  If a scholar passes the fitness test, the scholar is now approved to participate in the Try-Out process.  The coach will determine if your scholar makes the team based on tryout criteria.
